You are the best mom in the whole wide world. Thank you so much for taking me on my summer vacation to Puerto Rico. We had an awesome time touring the entire Island starting in Old San Juan and traveling all the west to Mayaguez. This wonderful experience taught me to always do something to make the world better and more beautiful. Although Puerto Rico suffered a great devastation with the destruction of hurricane Maria in .. and the Coronavirus epidemic in 2018. it was able to slowly recover from these natural disasters. Also, the economy suffers from inflation, poor housing and development, and unemployment. Tourism and the mere fact that Islanders are helping each other in time if poverty is the only way the island can truly make a complete recovery.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the great acts of kindness from Olga, Hector, and Ignacio who all helped make our trip worthwhile. I will surely miss the flamboyant, the consistent chirping of the coqui, El Moro, Paqrue De Bombas, Caves of Camuy, San Sebastian’s Waterfalls, Camuy National Park, rainforests in the towns of Mayaguez and Isabela, many restaurants and beaches, and many more other wonder attractions.
On the day before our departure, Miss Runfio thought that it would be a good idea to go to the cinema, which was located a few minutes from Arecibo. The movie was called Insidious The Red Door, which was in English with Spanish subtitles. Before seeing this movie for the first time in Puerto Rico. I felt hungry so Miss Runfio searched for a good place in Arecibo. It is called La Guira and it has specialty dishes that are mouth watering. I ate a plate of Churrasco steak, tostones, and the most delicious rice called mamaposteado. Our server is Paula and she’s so nice to write down the name of the best specialty rice that I have ever tasted. My mom ordered a plate of carne frita (fried pork) with rooted mashed vegetables. ¡Qué sabroso! (How delicious!)
